Thoughts From a "Lost Canadian" About Jasper National Park

For the past two and a half weeks I've been posting each day about one of the National Parks in Canada. I have enjoyed learning about all these amazing places - and some of them are more than amazing - some are the only places on Earth where you will be able to see or experience the things in those parks.

Today I am happy to let you know about another truly beautiful place - Jasper National Park in Alberta - if you enjoy majestic mountains, this is a place you will love!

• Jasper National Park is part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site and adjacent to the Banff National Parks.
• This National Park is defined by glaciers, lakes, and peaks like 11,033-ft.-high Mt. Edith Cavell.
• Jasper National Park is the world's second largest dark sky preserve in the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies! 
• The Icefields Parkway is one of the most scenic drives in the world. It blazes through the heart of Jasper and Banff national parks. 
• Observing wildlife as they go about their natural lives is one of the most fascinating experiences Jasper can offer. 
• Jasper National Park is home to 53 species of mammals  including, bears; such as grizzly bears (with their notably large humps) or black bears (with their tan muzzles), elk, moose, two species of deer (mule and white tailed deer), bighorn sheep, mountain goats, wolves, and coyotes to name a few. Lucky hikers, might even spot a rare woodland caribou.
• Soak in the hottest hot springs in the Rockies at Mietta Hot Springs.
• Jasper National Park is the home of the largest bodies of ice remaining in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
• There are many things to do at Jasper National Park, including, hiking, camping, biking, water sports, fishing, para-gliding, hang-gliding, photography, and winter sports to mention a few.
